Underrated Pleasures

An unexpected meme created by Bub and Pie, propagated by The New Girl, and further purloined by Rose, and now me:

Clean Sheets
Slipping into bed at night after changing the sheets that day. No wrinkles, hospital corners still intact. Bounce smell still fresh.

A New Box of Crayons
We've been doing a lot more coloring lately. It's fantastic stress relief. I prefer coloring books, myself as they are even further down on the stress-meter; you don't even have to think about what to draw. And the best part is having a fresh box of Crayolas with nice sharp tips.

Hot Cocoa Tea Parties
During RC's naps, HRH and I will often sit at the table with mugs of hot chocolate and a little cup of mini-marshmallows between us to share. He eats them; I put them in the cocoa. I buy the cocoa without the marshmallows already in. It's better that way.

Clean Boys After a Bath Smell
Especially in feety pajamas. You've got to sniff their hair while you give them a hug.

Foot Rubs
Especially unsolicited. Best of all over a glass of wine, while we're having a nice, uninterrupted conversation. Also good while sitting on the couch watching TV.

The First Sip of Tea in the Morning
The caffeine travels so fast to my never endings and makes me sigh in pleasure.

Having Someone Else Wash your Hair at the Salon
It's decadent. If they do it right, it gives me chills.

Cleared, Clean, Countertops
'Nuff said.

The funny thing is, my post was a sequel to a previous post called "Overrated Pleasures" - and clean sheets were at the top of my list. I just don't seem to notice them.

A shampoo at the hairdresser, though ... that one I can get into.

Oh, man, I'm with you on all of these.

...oh, so now I'm supposed to WASH your hair when you hang your head in my kitchen sink??? My clients have told me I am the best!
Posted, with love, from your now SAHM sister (who also happens to be your hairdresser!)

Oh those countertops! It's such a huge effort to keep them clean. But you're right, when they are, wow, you just have to stare for a while.

And that cup of tea. I'm all about the tea. Ahhh.

Oh yes! Clean sheets rock!
And tea is the best. Once when I was pregnant I woke up and didn't. want. my. tea. I cried. My husband thought I was nuts. Ha!

Clean sheets would be at the top of my list too. In fact, you've inspired me to change the sheets today!

I dunno, Dan. There was that kid at Mark's place. It was practically sexual.

Can I remind you that guy was gay??? Sexual...hmmmm...I don't know. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. But, yeah, he was really good.

I was going to steal Bub and Pie's Overrated pleasures also but I didn't ...yeeeet.

I LOVE me a new box of crayons. I always have.

I also LOVE my tea (tazo awake) but also didn't want it when I was pregnant and have really, really cut down while BFing b/c I SWEAR it affects the baby, even though I can't IMAGINE that it does.

TNG, you're totally right. It definitely affects the baby. Can't have a hyper LNG.
