I would so quickly buy the boiler because I love hot water in my baths. Long soaks just aren't the same without it. Enjoy!
ohhh, I hope for your sake it is the sweet bling bling ring. Sadly, I am thinking it is the boiler. I think the main draw back of homeowning is that you spend a butt load of money on crap no one cares about (ours this summer was a dumpster to fill up with trees and bushes we cut down and a tune up for my car) wicked exciting!
Oh I'm crying for you. Our boiler was about $5K. Could have bought me new kitchen cabinets.
On the off chance you don't ACTUALLY need a boiler, totally buy the ring. You can always sell it later and take a vacation.

We just spent a bit of money on some home repairs. None of which are visible to the naked eye. Not very satisfying...

Ugh. Us too. Home repairs, always. It's like buying underwear. Not fun.
While not nearly as expensive as a new boiler (we did that one 8 years ago)we are using money we could have used for a couple nights on the Cape to pay to have a woodpecker captured and the damage done to our roof by said woodpecker to be fixed. Ugh.

Great post. Funny how our responsible lives get in the way of all our fun. I would sell my house boiler and all and move to the south of France. When my money ran out I would be in trouble, but it would be fun.

I can so relate to this. After our first daughter was born we had a gas water heater break ($1,500), termites eat through our foyer wall ($3,00), a new roof (insurance paid for that except $1,000 deduct.), but you catch my drift.
It's just the sheer joy of home ownership!
